Exhibition by Jo Halden

“A self taught artist, I find inspiration in nature and the part that we, as human beings, play within nature. We are not a species set apart, we are not more important than other species that share it with us, we are all part of the same ecosystem. But we are exploiting the planet.

I work in watercolour and acrylic to produce pictures which aim to celebrate something which we are in grave danger of losing.”

Jo painted this portrait of Micky Flanagan when she was on Sy Arts’ ‘Portrait Artist of the Year’
